Dr Paul was born and grew up locally, is a Veterinary Science graduate from the University of Queensland. He met his future wife Leanne Litzow on the very first day of their university studies in 1979 wheere they sat alphabetically, although they attended neighbouring schools they had never met. Both completed their studies in 1983 and married in 1986. Paul interned at the Silkstone Veterinary Hospital before establishing the Grange Veterinary Surgery at its current location in 1987. He has an great interest in dentistry, surgery and Feline Medicine, He is a frequent enthusiastic attendant at post graduate continuing education seminars and conferences, he qualified as a Charter Member of the Australian Veterinary Association in 2009.
Dr Leanne graduated with Paul from the University Of Queensland in 1983 and after a stint working in Melbourne's Bundoora Veterinary Hospital returned to Brisbane. She worked for several years full time at Queensland Veterinary Specialists before marrying and starting her family in 1988. Her veterinary career slowed for a number of years working part time both at QVS and the Grange Veterinary Surgery. After her third baby in 1994 Leanne has finally devoted all her veterinary attention here. Her special interest in veterinary medicine is reproduction having bred and shown Dachshunds for many years. Leanne's major outside interest is netball where she competes weekly and is nationally accredited netball umpire.
Tina graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997 and spent the first 6 years working in mixed rural practices in Central Queensland. She then worked in Cambridge and London in the UK for 5 years. After returning to Brisbane in 2008 she has worked in general small practices and at an emergency vet clinic. Tina’s interests are endocrine disorders and soft tissue surgery. Tina loves spending time with her young family and enjoys the great outdoors at any opportunity.
Kathy is our senior Veterinary Nurse with over 25 years of experience in the veterinary industry. Her Veterinary Nursing career began back in the early 80's, when she began work at a specialist practice on Brisbane's northside. She originally completed a three year Veterinary Nursing course in 1986, and then went on to update to a Certificate IV in 1999. Kathy has worked at the Grange Veterinary Surgery since 1993. Kathy has special interests in both Medical and Surgical Nursing.
When not at work Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys music and reading.
Her family shares their home with rescued pets 'Ducati', and 'Gabby' .
Rachael commenced her work experience component of the veterinary nursing course at the Grange Veterinary Surgery in early 2009. Rachael showed exceptional competency and was offered a position on the staff prior to completion of her studies. Rachael came to us via St Ritaâ€™s College, Clayfield and is a trained photographer. Her special interests include macro photography particularly of wildlife and plants, camping, fishing, hand raising orphan possums, birds and other native fauna. Her pets include lorikeet, Kodah, dogs Bear and Skip.
Antonia was born in Germany, moved to The Grange when she was 7 and has lived in Brisbane ever since. The Grange Veterinary Surgery has always been her family's local vet, where she routinely took her Rhodesian Ridgeback to get checked. While she attended St Rita's College, Clayfield she did her work experience here. After that she regularly did casual work here over the holidays and now she works with us on weekends. In 2010 she began to study Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland and is now in her fourth year. Antonia is particularly interested in small animal medicine and surgery but also equine practice. Antonia's hobbies include horseback riding, martial arts, camping, travelling and art
Claudia is a born and bred Brisbane girl who has always loved all things animals. She graduated from All Hallows’ School in 2012, and completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing from BNIT in 2013, carrying out the practical work component of her course here at the Grange Vet Surgery over the year. Claudia is now thrilled to be a formal member of the Grange Vet Surgery staff, working here as a veterinary nurse part time, while pursuing another of her interests as she studies a bachelor of photography degree. Her other interests include playing piano, visiting family in Dalby, and spending time with her crazy dog, Tilly.
